In today's world, people often rely on anecdotes, particularly when choosing a candidate in the Presidential election. A sensible remedy is to apply common sense—or, if that falls short, to examine trends.
Actual data seldom tell a simple tale of disaster or triumph, but in the current era of blatant, hysterical behavior, political statements about the demise of the US are greatly exaggerated, if not downright delusional. This is why dark and blatant claims such as "Our country has become a shithole" or "We, as a Nation, are under threat of an enemy within (referring to immigrants and the Left)" are so misleading, if not outright deceitful. It mirrors the tactics employed by numerous dictators and warmongers from history and is extremely, extremely dangerous.
If I were a cheeky eagle, I would be tempted to soar high above the current MAGA madness and aim my droppings right at the top of someone's orange toupee.
